Do Churchgoers Really Care More About Church Than Christ’s Kingdom?

Even though the apostles taught the New Testament church to live in anticipation of the kingdom of God (This theme can be seen from the Gospels through Revelation), today’s church seems to have no interest in even hearing about this reality that God promised.

For example, see this short post and comment string following wherein I tried to pursue the subject with noted biblioblogger Jim West, Adjunct Professor of Biblical Studies at Quartz Hill School of Theology in Quartz Hill, California and pastor of Petros Baptist Church in Petros, Tennessee.

Jesus told us in Matthew 6:33 to seek first the kingdom of God.  Churchgoing has clearly become an obstacle to that pursuit.
