The Biggest Problem with the Trinity

The biggest problem with the concept of trinity is that it obscures the light of Christ.

He who is called the “second” person of the Trinity is taught by the New Testament as coming to have “first place in everything.” (Colossians 1:18)

Mike: So, who is Jesus if not the “second” person of the Trinity? What is his relationship to the Father and the Spirit, then?

    • Mike Gantt says:

The Scriptures give Jesus many names (e.g. the Christ, the Son of God, Lord, Prince of Peace, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and so on). However, they never call Him “the second person of the Trinity.” The “Trinity” is a man-made doctrine; it is not scriptural.

Jesus is the Son of the Father (2 John 1:3) and the One who sends us the Spirit (Acts 2:32-33). “He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life” (1 John 5:12).

As I’ve said, the biggest problem with the concept of Trinity is that it obscures the light of Christ. The Trinity is man’s mystery; Christ is God’s mystery (Ephesians 3:4; Colossians 2:2; 4:3). And God’s mysteries are meant to be revealed to those who seek the Lord (Proverbs 28:5). Seek Christ the Lord, for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3).
