Paul referred to the New Testament church as the bride of Christ, and, on that basis among others, he and the other apostles sought to prepare that bride to be taken by the Bridegroom the way Mordecai and others prepared Esther to be taken as queen by King Ahasuerus (Esther 1-2).
First comes marriage, then comes fatherhood. This is God’s way. And God certainly follows His own protocols. For this reason Jesus is not proclaimed as Father in the New Testament, but we can certainly do so now because He has come in His kingdom. (See also the previous post.) Jesus is not an illegitimate father – He earned the right.
