Christ Is the New Beginning

The apostle Paul wrote that Jesus Christ was “the beginning, the first-born from the dead” (Colossians 1:18 NASB).  This was so God in Christ “might come to have first place in everything.”

We are to worship Christ as Lord – for in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells (Colossians 2:9).  There are no other gods to have before Him or beside Him.  This is why Paul was unafraid to call Him “the beginning.”
