Names of the Lord: Jesus Is the Standard

What is the standard by which we are judged?  Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus was lifted up from the earth (John 12:32) – in the flesh on the cross, and in the spirit to heaven.  He is the One to whom we are to look.  He is the One to whom we are compared.

There is no use comparing ourselves to each other (or to Hitler – that’s how low everyone seems to want to set the bar).  We must compare ourselves to the only One who is a true standard:   Jesus Christ.

The Standard is His name.
