Both Ed Babinski and Thom Stark (if you don’t know them, you can learn more about them through the links below) have written extensive biblical cases that establish the timeline for the coming of the kingdom of God as being expected during the 1st Century. Though each of these man presents a thoroughly scriptural case, they each present the issue a little differently and with some different emphases. Thereby, each, in effect, strengthens the other’s case. Thus, together what they present is even more persuasive.
As I understand it, both gentlemen were raised to believe that the Bible is the word of God and were taught it as such. While neither clings to that view today, this does explain some of their fluency with the relevant scriptures. I hasten to point out that each man makes his case in order to ascribe fallibility to Jesus. That is, they believe that Jesus was wrong when He predicted what He did. They make the case therefore to demonstrate how Jesus was wrong and why they are right to no longer trust Him on this issue.
