Ennio Morricone Conducts Music from “The Mission” (1986 film)

Ennio Morricone composed the music for the movie “The Mission” and conducts its main theme in this 9:34 clip.

The music is profoundly moving and melancholic – appropriate for a movie that emotionally portrays, whether intentionally or not, the self-defeating efforts of organized religion and its toxic effects on those it ostensibly seeks to serve.

Organized religion was necessary in the biblical age, but we live in the age of the kingdom of God.  The Lord Jesus Himself is all the covering a believer needs.
