State of Utah lists 15 consequences to redefining marriage in appellate brief

It’s encouraging to see a state recognize that it has a compelling interest in the preservation of marriage as that between one man and one woman for one lifetime.  This post identifies some of those specific reasons that the state of Utah has presented to court presiding in this issue.  The central greatest reason, of course, is the welfare of children.  No state or nation can do well if its children grow up with less than adequate parenting.

It’s hard enough for one man and one woman who are committed to lifelong love with each other to raise a child – how much harder for any other person or persons.
