Acts 8:35  –  Beginning from every Scripture, let us proclaim Jesus!

The writings that comprise the Bible are the words of men, and they are also the words of God.  More specifically, they are the words of God through the words of men. Some people think that if the Bible is the word of God, then it should not bear the marks of humanity – but it does.  Conversely, some think that because the Bible is clearly the work of humans that it cannot be word of God – but it is. In the Bible, messages from God come to us through the personalities of men.  Most of all, the message of God Himself – that is, His very being – comes through Jesus Christ.

“God is great, God is good; let us thank Him for…”  Because Jesus thought of God as uniquely great (Luke 18:27) and as uniquely good (Matthew 19:17), and because He said that we should come before God as children (Matthew 18:3-4),  it is not hard to imagine Jesus praying this prayer – or at least in the spirit of it – even as an adult. If Jesus prayed as a humble child before God, how much more we should pray as a humble child before Jesus.

Sometimes we speak of worldview; sometimes we speak of faith.  Aren’t the really the same thing?

When we stumble in our walk with God, it’s usually not over the finer points but rather over the basics.  Therefore, keep returning to the basics and make sure you have them down.  The finer points will then come more naturally and be less likely to cause problems.
