Even though 70 percent of Americans report hearing “little” to “nothing at all” about the videos, Planned Parenthood is already losing support.
Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist documents that 1) not enough people have seen the Planned Parenthood (PP) undercover videos, 2) greater awareness of the videos will surely lead to great decline in support for PP. Thus we must not focus so much on defunding PP, but rather on GETTING THE VIDEOS SEEN. Once the videos are seen and digested by enough Americans, defunding will follow just as night follows day. Right now, the public is mostly hearing pro-life people arguing with pro-choice people about the videos. For the public, this is “same old same old” and they are frozen in their position. The public will be changed not as they hear more from us but as they SEE THE VIDEOS. The videos will not change the hearts of hard-core abortion supporters, but they will change the hearts of the “mushy middle” of Americans who keep trying to ignore the issue.
