In this article, Ruben Navarrette, Jr. (whom I do not know beyond this article) describes how the Planned Parenthood videos are changing his thinking about abortion. The title of his article is “I Don’t Know If I’m Pro-Choice After Planned Parenthood Videos.” In it, he says:
For the last 30 years, I’ve supported abortion rights. Then I saw the Planned Parenthood videos.
Although Navarette technically calls himself “pro-choice,” it seems to me that he has leaned toward abortion support rather than been a staunch advocate like Cecile Richards, Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton. Therefore, I consider him part of large group of Americans situated between abortion supporters on one end of the spectrum and pro-lifers on the other.
This is the kind of work the videos can do in a human heart…if they are viewed. We should be doing whatever will lead to more people in “the mushy middle” of the abortion debate viewing these videos. Our rhetoric has reached the limit of those it can reach. These videos are breaking new ground…wherever they are VIEWED.
