About

Mike Gantt

My name is Michael Gantt.  The purpose of this blog is to honor the name of Jesus Christ.  I also write the following blogs to honor Him.

The first blog is written for anyone who is able to read and does not require familiarity with the Bible.  The second proclaims the same truths but is written for those who are familiar with the Bible and those who want to become familiar with it.  In both of those two blogs I try to avoid external links (which can become broken after a while) and other references that would render the material less useful over time.  I also tend to write the posts for those two blogs well in advance of their publication, and usually write one for each day.  In this blog, however, I free myself from such constraints and thus have a way to publish material spontaneously that doesn’t quickly and easily fit into one of the other two formats, or that is “overflow” from them.  Thus is consists of miscellaneous informational posts about Jesus and His kingdom.

The truths I communicate in all three of these blogs is the same.  The only thing that differs is the form of presentation, as I have described above.  It’s not as though you’re going to hear different messages if you move from one of these blogs to the others.

I don’t claim copyright to anything I write on these sites.  You are free to use my material however you wish – with or without attribution.  (See official notice to this effect at bottom of this page.)  As for material copyrighted by others to which I link or that is otherwise accessed here, we should all respect their rights.

If you want to know about me and my motivation for writing, see the About section of A Nonchurchgoer’s Guide to Jesus and His Kingdom.

Comment Policy

I welcome challenge and criticism; the truths I proclaim will withstand testing.  If you’d rather not identify yourself, that’s okay, as I do allow comments to be made anonymously.

I only delete comments that are spam or excessively profane.  The only editing I do of comments is to remove profanity as an alternative to deleting the entire comment.

Where a response is sought, I try to give one in a timely manner.  Otherwise, I only respond if I think it will be helpful.  In cases where there is no reconciliation of views, I prefer to let the challenger have the last word.  May the Spirit of Jesus Christ prevail and may His truth make progress in all our hearts.

If you like what I write, just practice it – you don’t need say anything to me about it or make yourself known to me. I don’t need your approval and you don’t need mine.  Walk before God and walk with God – that’s what matters.

  1. I was gladdened to see your posts. The non-trinitarian and reconciliation persons within the Body are castigated and made out to be pariahs. The true universalist, whose intention is to magnify the Word and conform to the Image of the Son, is alone and separated for divine purposes. To have God, our Father, choose us to obtain this knowledge of His ways, is a privilege and a cross to bear. Mocking, ridicule, disdain, hostility, and all sorts of other uncharitable behaviours hidden in the Body are unmasked upon the announcement that He is “the Saviour of all men, specially them that believe”. His timing and ways are unknown outside of what He has revealed, but the end of all things He has shown us. He will become All in all. I pray for you and share in your tensions.

  2. Mike,
I just read your comments at Patheos on Pat Robertson and Ken Hamm and wanted to thank you for them. I am concerned about where a segment of the church seems to be headed in this area. Conceding to the “evidence” of science at the expense of the scripture and the gospel. Grateful for the time you take to contend for the faith in a graceful, intelligent way. God bless you.

    1. That’s kind of you, Rick, to take the time to encourage. (I assume you’re talking about this conversation.)

I know very little about science and so I am all the more grateful for those believers who do, and who use that knowledge to try and help the rest of us benefit from the knowledge science brings us without giving up our faith in the Lord’s word which He sent us through His prophets and apostles.

That which scientists study (i.e. heaven and earth) will pass away, but that which our Lord has spoken will never pass away.

  3. PLANTING CHURCHES INSIDE MUSLIM COMMUNITY
Dear Bro. Mike Gantt in Christ,
Greetings to you in the most precious name from our Lord Jesus Christ!
I am very glad to share with you that our Living God has filled my hearts with His burden & vision in in my life to reach specifically to the Muslims by The Gospel of Jesus Christ & plant House Churches inside Muslim community. While Muslim terrorist groups such as Islamic state , Taliban, Al Qaeda and Boko Haram are killing Christians in different countries, He is leading me to reach out to the Muslims for His own glory and help them to know that Jesus Christ is The Only Living God and Saviour.
I am facing lots of challenges and oppositions by the Militant Muslims but God has protected us and the believers for His own glory. The believers at our fellowship from Muslim background are constantly facing opposition from their own family members, relatives and Militant Muslims for their new faith in Christ.
The Militant Muslims tortures, beats, mocks, spat, try to burn believer’s houses for their new faith in Christ. The believers are reaching to their Muslim neighbors, relatives and militant Muslims in the midst of persecution & oppositions by His grace & mercies.
However, I humbly request you kindly pray for God’s protection in my life, family and the new believers from the hands of militant Muslims. Pray also for His wisdom and guidance in all our lives and ministry.
    Regards,
    Bashir

  4. I will try and make this short.. I am Charismatic Christian. I came to the Lord reading bible myself, getting filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in Tongues not even knowing what was happening to me. At this point I ran to church to get answers to the feeling of the Holy Spirits presence. I found church to be awful. I was thinking this is where God puts the people not in his Kingdom. People outside the church treat each other better than inside.. Anyway so now I study on my own with the Lord. He showed me Preterist and All saved.. Yeah.. but of course everyone thinks I am lost as I do not follow a pastor or belong to a church and now I have non mainstream ideas. I was wondering what to do about laying on hands for the sick? Casting out demons? When with a person you know is being harassed by evil and we Know Jesus will set them free. How do I go about helping them get free of what is harassing them? Can I pray silently? I struggle with what to do. As sometimes they get heeled and other times I am unaware they had been. How do you operate in the Kingdom of God with the gifts?

  5. Tracy,

Alas, I am not proficient in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and cannot answer your questions. I wish I could, and I feel ashamed of my growth to this point that I cannot.

What I can say is that your testimony of faithfulness to the Lord in spite of misunderstanding and rejection from others is very encouraging. I hope that you will continue to follow Christ. Truly in Him it is possible for all questions to be answered.

May we all grow in the ways of His Spirit.
